( About the Archive )I've always had an affinity for textiles due to my longterm interest in fashion and art history. The historical ties between textiles and computing piqued my interest in textiles, especially looking at it from a feminist perspective.

I decided to create an online archive that documents how artists, designers, and other creative professionals use or reference textiles and technology in conversation with one another. I reached out to and interviewed nearly 20 artists as part of this archive.

( Online Archive )The website, coded with HTML/CSS and Javascript, contains interviews for over 20 artists which I've been conducting since October 2025. The website's grid was loosely inspired by the idea of a punch card or a knitting pattern, as well as fax paper which was used to graphically communicate and send information in the late 20th century.

When users click on each interview, the title flips over to reveal a graphic image representing the artist.

The website and interviews are in the editing progress, which is why some of the images are blurred.

( Poster and Scarf )I created graphic marks very loosely inspired by textile and weaving patterns for each of the artists. The graphic squares are also a nod to quilts, which are made up of different pieces of fabric from different sources (making quilts collaborative). These patterns have the potential to act as scannable QR codes. I used these images for a poster and a printed scarf.
